Quite an impressive lineup, if I do say so myself. The H&J bag shelf at The Uncommons.

  3. Exposure: 1/15th
  4. Focal Length: 3mm

This purse can be yours in 3 easy steps. Ask me how.

horaceandjasper:

Another new mini-chick. This one can be yours.

Our knife roll prototype is complete and it turned out to be quite usable. A few little changes here and there to make it ready for sale at knifewear.
horaceandjasper:

The knife roll lives!.Well a prototype of it lives. A couple of small changes to be made, but aesthetically it will be unchanged. The first five or six are spoken for, but you can get one through me, or at Knifewear in a couple of weeks.

My personal wallet. 2 years old. Washed a half dozen times. Looking so badass.

horaceandjasper:

We’re almost big in Japan! Wallets in production that are on their way to Japan next week.

The strops keep a selling. Thank you all!

The photo doesn’t do this guitar strap justice.  I can’t wait to see this on my customer’s Gretsch White Falcon.

horaceandjasper:

So here’s a teaser of that sexy guitar strap I was talking about…

  1. Camera: Samsung SGH-T989D
  2. Focal Length: 4mm

Someone dropped this beast off at the shop today for sharpening.  Seriously intimidating and the leather handle was just SO FUCKING COOL. It’s a KA-BAR brand combat knife used by US Marines and apparently Navy as well.

Hey Hi Hello! Miss Von C reporting live!

I got the pleasure of meeting this gentleman that goes by the name of Johnny Tremendous who is the creator of Horace & Jasper. We had originally met at #yyc’s local “Market Collective” where I had purchased one of his awesome bracelets. This guy makes the COOLEST and most BAD ASS stuff!

I got the privilege of chatting with him more about his business and style, check out this Q&A

Where were you born and how old are you?

I was born in Canada’s arm pit.  Parts of me are 45 years old.  Other bits are still in their teens.
Explain your self in 5 words?

I’m independent, irreverent, gentle, wild & curious

What “style” genre would you consider your self to be?

My personal style is practical, rugged, and rock n roll.  This translates into the stuff we make quite literally.
where did your company name come from?

Horace & Jasper used to work for Cruella DeVille catching and skinning puppies.  The dumped that psycho and started their own gig making badass leather goods.
Where did you come up with your initial business idea?

It started as a hobby and has grown organically into the vast global empire you know Horace & Jasper as today.
what are or who are some of your influences ?

The team of Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren have been a big influence.  They made great looking clothing that really crossed some lines when it came to ‘good taste’.
How long has your business been around?

We’ve been doing this for around 5 years.
What is you plan for the next year? How do you plan on expanding?

In early 2013 Horace & Jasper will have an online store.  I don’t really ‘plan’ on expanding, it just happens and we adapt to the demand.
Where do you see your self in five years?

5 years from now I expect that I will be drunk, listening to loud music and making even cooler leather stuff.
What kind of people are drawn to your product? How do you market your self? Do you have a online shop? local store?

Of course we sell to bad girl fashionistas, but there has been a lot of interest from all over the spectrum lately.  I market the brand by getting out there and meeting people, getting the products up in peoples faces, so they can see first hand that this Horace & Jasper stuff is top notch.  At the moment we sell in Calgary out of The Uncommons, and online through referrals.  There is a webstore in the works, through which we will sell all manner of goods that are guaranteed to make your ass look better, make you look taller, and make you look curiously dangerous.

What does your product say about you? what do you try to get across in the way you do business?

My product is like like a diary.  It says exactly everything about me.  The same can be said about the way I do business.  I’m just a big smiley goon who likes to make stuff and get beautifully damaged people to wear it.
Do you have any pets?
I have a couple of black cats that are brother and sister named Minerva & Grendel.  Their last name is Spiders

Whats your favorite bar to go to ?

I’m not partial to one particular place but I’ll have a pint of something local and a Jager, please.
Whats your dream vacation destination ?

Faviken.  Look it up.

Thats all for now!
